The body is in a constant state of detoxifying itself. We sweat to release toxins, we urinate, we defecate, we sneeze, we breathe, and when phlegm develops we spit it out. All of this is the body detoxifying. When we do yoga to detoxify we need to compress and decompress the internal organs. We need to introduce the wringing action which is like wringing a cloth soaked with liquid. We twist the cloth till all the liquid is gone. When we wring the internal organs through twisting poses we release toxins into the bloodstream, these toxins are then moved to the excretory systems of the body and expelled. Thus, detoxification!
